The U.S. Census Bureau announced on April 9 the release of a downloadable file with estimates of the nation’s resident population by single year of age and sex as of July 1, 2025.

These new data provide insight into the demographic makeup of the United States for policymakers, researchers, and members of the public who rely on up-to-date population information.

According to the Census Bureau, additional data releases are planned in the coming months. These will include housing unit estimates for the nation, states, and counties, as well as population estimates for cities and towns. The bureau also plans to publish more detailed breakdowns by age, sex, race, and Hispanic origin at various geographic levels such as states, metropolitan areas, micropolitan areas, and counties. Estimates covering Puerto Rico Commonwealth and municipio populations by age and sex are also scheduled for future release.

The Census Bureau did not issue a formal news release alongside this product but provided a tip sheet to inform interested parties about these updates.

These ongoing releases support planning efforts across sectors that depend on accurate demographic information.
