The U.S. Census Bureau has announced it will release three key reports next month detailing income, poverty, and health insurance coverage statistics for the United States in 2024. The findings will be presented during an online news conference scheduled for Tuesday, September 9 at 10 a.m. EDT.

The upcoming reports—Income in the United States: 2024, Poverty in the United States: 2024, and Health Insurance Coverage in the United States: 2024—are based on data from the Current Population Survey Annual Social and Economic Supplement (CPS ASEC). These documents provide annual national statistics that evaluate economic trends and their impact on households, families, and individuals.

The income report offers estimates of annual income, earnings, and inequality to help assess national economic conditions. The poverty report provides both official poverty rates and Supplemental Poverty Measure (SPM) estimates to gauge economic well-being. The health insurance coverage report examines trends in coverage status by various characteristics to give insight into individual well-being.

David Waddington, chief of the Social, Economic and Housing Statistics Division at the Census Bureau; Sharon Stern, assistant division chief for Employment Characteristics; Liana Fox, assistant division chief for Economic Characteristics; and Julie Iriondo, chief of the Media Relations Branch at the Public Information Office will participate in presenting these findings. Iriondo will serve as moderator for the event.

A question-and-answer session with these officials will follow the presentation. The Census Bureau plans to post all related reports, data tables, and a news release to its Income, Poverty and Health Insurance press kit online shortly after the conference begins.
