A former deputy at the Theo Lacy Facility in Orange County, California, has been sentenced after being accused of showing pornographic videos and sexually assaulting female inmates. Arcadio Rodriguez, 30, received a sentence of 364 days credit time served and must register as a sex offender for at least 10 years, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
Rodriguez has been monitored by GPS since January and will serve one year on probation. The charges stem from incidents beginning in May 2022 when Rodriguez allegedly showed two female inmates pornographic videos of himself and touched them over their jail uniforms while they were incarcerated at the maximum-security facility.
Orange County District Attorney Todd Spizer commented on the case: “To have a sworn deputy sheriff betray his oath of office to serve and protect by preying on vulnerable incarcerated individuals for his own sexual gratification is an embarrassment to the badge and to all the hardworking law enforcement professionals who carry out their duties lawfully each and every day.”
Theo Lacy Facility is known as a maximum-security jail located in Orange.
