Tens of thousands of dollars were allegedly taken from a Florida Little League and used for personal expenses, according to the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities say William Harold Reynolds III, the former president of Yulee Little League, is accused of misusing $94,000 belonging to the organization.

The sheriff’s office reported that the league’s vice president alerted authorities in May after discovering financial irregularities tied to Reynolds. The board alleged he made unauthorized purchases using league funds.

Investigators said Reynolds used the league’s debit card for personal expenses since January 1, 2024. The unauthorized spending included nearly $13,000 on Amazon and Prime Video services, more than $3,000 at gas stations, and over $4,000 at restaurants.

Reynolds was arrested and charged with theft and fraud. His bond was set at $30,000.

A statement posted on Yulee Little League’s Facebook page notes that Reynolds became president in August 2023 after two decades with the organization.

Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper stated in the release: “It’s shameful to steal from children.”

Leeper also thanked those who helped with the investigation: “Little leagues help make kids’ dreams a reality. I want to thank the Yulee Little League Board members, as well as our investigators for working diligently to obtain and search records in order to arrest this individual.”

Yulee is located about 25 miles north of Jacksonville.
