Georgia is expected to experience the effects of two developing Atlantic weather systems as hurricane season continues. The National Weather Service (NWS) is monitoring a disturbance known as 94L, which is likely to become Tropical Storm Imelda, and Hurricane Humberto. Both systems are forecasted to influence Georgia’s weather in the coming days.

Hurricane Humberto is located several hundred miles east of Florida’s coast and is projected to strengthen over the warm Atlantic waters. Meanwhile, 94L, anticipated to be named Imelda, is showing increased circulation and organization. Current forecasts suggest that both storms will begin affecting Georgia late Friday, with impacts continuing through Sunday.

Meteorologists recommend that residents remain informed by following official NWS updates and local alerts as the situation develops. The Georgia Emergency Management Agency has advised people in potentially impacted areas to take necessary precautions.

Forecast models from the National Hurricane Center will continue to be updated in the coming days as new satellite data and storm observations become available.

“Just be prepared for volatile weather conditions and pay attention to safety advice as the weekend approaches,” meteorologists said.
