The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Women’s & Young Workers Department has opened registration for two upcoming leadership programs. The Women’s Leadership Program will take place from March 1 to March 6, 2026, and the Advanced Women’s Leadership Program is scheduled for March 15 to March 20, 2026. Both events will be held at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland.

The Women’s Leadership Program aims to encourage female union members to become more active within their local chapters and districts. It focuses on developing skills in organizing, parliamentary procedure, political and legislative involvement, strategic planning, and building professional networks.

For those who have already completed the initial program, the Advanced Women’s Leadership Program offers an opportunity to further enhance leadership abilities. This program builds on previous learning and continues skill development in similar areas.

According to the IAM announcement: “Women’s Leadership Programs equip IAM sisters with the tools and confidence needed to lead effectively at every level of the union and to strengthen solidarity across our membership.”

Registration for the Women’s Leadership Program closes on January 21, 2026. The deadline for the Advanced Women’s Leadership Program is February 11, 2026. Members interested in participating must use the Departmental Program Registration Form as outlined in the official call letter, which also details tuition, transportation arrangements, and curriculum information.

Members seeking additional information are advised to contact the Women’s & Young Workers Department at 301-967-4747.

The IAM encourages eligible members to consider this educational opportunity as a way to help build a stronger and more inclusive organization.
