The Macon Violence Prevention (MVP) program, in collaboration with Macon Mental Health Matters, will host the second annual Ice Cream with Dad event on Saturday, September 20. The gathering is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Carolyn Crayton Park, located at 150 Willie Smokie Glover Drive. Organizers invite fathers, grandfathers, and male guardians from the community to attend.

“Ice Cream with Dad is a special event for me,” said MVP Coordinator Jeremy Grissom. “As a father, I enjoy being able to celebrate fathers while fostering as safe and fun environment for dads to spend time with their kids. Life is so busy for most of us, so taking the time out to provide ice cream, fun and quality is important.”

The event is part of a series organized nationally by The Active Dad, which supports fathers and father figures through regular online meetings focused on sharing experiences and finding solutions to common challenges.
