The Macon-Bibb County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) has opened its annual Children’s Art Contest for the 2026 Emergency Preparedness Calendar. The contest is open to all K-12 students in Macon-Bibb County, regardless of which school they attend. Selected winners will have their artwork featured in the upcoming calendar.

“Emergency preparedness calendars are a daily reminder to stay ready, and when students create the art, it becomes a community effort — empowering the next generation to lead, educate, and inspire safety in every household,” said EMA Special Projects Officer Sophie Rosen.

Students are encouraged to submit drawings or paintings that focus on preparedness actions or depict natural or man-made disasters. Acceptable materials include paint, pen or pencil, pastel, crayons, or any combination of these. Submissions must be made on horizontal 8.5″ x 11″ drawing or construction paper.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, October 17, 2025. Application details can be found through the provided link.
