Margaritas are a popular choice for many looking for a drink to enjoy with dinner or on a night out. Around Macon, several local establishments offer their own takes on the classic cocktail, featuring a range of flavors from sweet to spicy.

At Margaritas Mexican Grill in Mercer Village, the “El Diablo” margarita caters to those who appreciate savory drinks. The cocktail combines Corazón Blanco Tequila, cucumbers, lime juice, agave syrup, jalapeños and Tajín seasoning. The blend delivers a salty and spicy flavor profile.

Ocmulgee Brewpub recently introduced its sweet and spicy margarita after updating its menu this summer. This drink features Dulce Vida pineapple jalapeño tequila, triple sec, house-made sweet and sour mix, and pineapple juice. Tajín provides an additional layer of heat to the fruity taste.

La Bella Morelia offers a hibiscus margarita that includes lime juice, triple sec, Casamigos Silver tequila and hibiscus. The result is a sweet beverage with floral notes complemented by the spiciness of Tajín.

Jalapeños Cantina serves up a Red Bull tropical margarita that mixes tequila with lime juice, orange juice and tropical-flavored Red Bull. The combination produces both sweet and salty flavors accented by pineapple.

El Sombrero Mexican Restaurant’s frozen peach margarita stands out for its creamy texture and fresh peach flavor. Served in a milkshake glass with salt or sugar on the rim, it blends traditional margarita ingredients—lime juice, triple sec and tequila—with peach flavoring for a new twist.

The variety of margaritas available across Macon highlights how local restaurants are adapting classic recipes to suit different tastes.
