A man was taken into custody after allegedly driving his car into the home of his ex-girlfriend’s mother in Westminster, Colorado, according to local police. Officers responded to a residence in the Hyland Greens neighborhood on August 31 following reports of a domestic disturbance, the Westminster Police Department stated in a post on X.

Police said their investigation revealed that the man initially rammed his vehicle into his ex-girlfriend’s mother’s house before leaving. He then crashed into another nearby home. Afterward, authorities reported that he returned to the first house and attempted multiple times to run over the woman before crashing into her home again.

Neighbors intervened and detained the suspect until law enforcement arrived. The man was subsequently transported to a hospital for medical evaluation, according to police.

No serious injuries were reported from the incident. Both affected homes are being evaluated for structural damage.

Officers have not released information regarding what led up to these events or identified the individual involved. Westminster is located about 10 miles northwest of downtown Denver.
