Man critically injured in Macon shooting under investigation

A 25-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition after a shooting in Macon on Monday evening, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a report of a person shot in the 2200 block of Recreation Road shortly after 7:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found the victim with a gunshot wound.

“Deputies discovered a twenty-five-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound,” the sheriff’s office said. “The victim was transported by ambulance to a medical facility. According to medical staff, the victim is currently listed in critical condition.”

Authorities stated that the case is being investigated as an aggravated assault and more details will be released when available.
