Man found shot dead outside Macon home; investigation ongoing

A man was found dead outside a home in Macon on Sunday morning, according to the Bibb County sheriff’s and coroner’s offices. The man, identified as 30-year-old Aubrey Randall Williams, had multiple gunshot wounds and did not live at the residence, Coroner Leon Jones said.

The homeowner discovered Williams unresponsive just before 8 a.m. in the front yard of a house located in the 1800 block of Sussex Drive, near Canterbury Road, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley pronounced Williams dead at around 8:30 a.m., Jones said.

Deputies stated that Williams’ family was notified of his death by 11:30 a.m.

Authorities had not announced any arrests related to the shooting as of Monday morning. Investigators are working to determine what led to the incident.
