The woman who was shot and killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Minneapolis on Wednesday has been identified as Renee Nicole Good, 37, according to her mother, Donna Ganger.
Ganger spoke with the Minnesota Star Tribune and shared that her daughter lived in the Twin Cities with her partner. She did not specify whether Good resided in Minneapolis itself. The family was notified of Good’s death late Wednesday morning.
“That’s so stupid” that she was killed, Ganger said after learning some of the circumstances from a reporter. “She was probably terrified.”
Ganger also addressed reports suggesting possible involvement with protesters challenging ICE agents. “My daughter is not part of anything like that at all,” she said.
“Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known,” Ganger added. “She was extremely compassionate. She’s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.”
