About six students from Peach County High School were taken to the hospital after a school bus was involved in a collision with another vehicle early Monday morning, according to school officials.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:10 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 96 and Buckeye Road in Fort Valley. Marla Sellers, spokesperson for Peach County Schools, stated that there were no extensive injuries reported as of Monday afternoon.

“So far, no one was injured, and from what I understand, the bus driver is okay,” Sellers told The Telegraph.

Sellers explained that parents transported the high school students to a local hospital rather than ambulances.

The Fort Valley Police Department responded to the scene on Monday morning. However, authorities could not be reached for comment before publication. The Georgia State Patrol has since taken over the investigation into the incident. Details regarding the other vehicle involved remain unavailable at this time.
