Teenager arrested after shooting leaves man critically injured in Macon

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a 25-year-old man on Monday evening in Macon, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence on the 2500 block of Millerfield Road shortly before noon on Tuesday, leading to the arrest of the teenager suspected in Monday’s incident.

Authorities said that deputies responded around 7:30 p.m. Monday to reports of a shooting in the 2200 block of Recreation Road. Upon arrival, they found a man with a gunshot wound who was transported by ambulance for medical treatment.

The suspect has been taken to the Macon Regional Youth Detention Center and is facing an aggravated assault charge. Sgt. Christopher Williams stated that the victim remains in critical but stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials indicated that additional charges may be considered as more information becomes available.
