The U.S. Census Bureau has announced the start of the 2026 Census Test, which will be conducted in Huntsville, Alabama and Spartanburg, South Carolina. The test aims to evaluate how the U.S. Postal Service can assist with tasks usually handled by Census Bureau field workers and includes limited activities for in-field enumeration.
In a statement, the agency said: “The Census Bureau remains committed to conducting the most accurate count in history for the 2030 Census and looks forward to the continued partnership with local communities.”
This effort is part of ongoing preparations for the next national population count scheduled for 2030.
