A shooting occurred on New Year’s Day in Warner Robins following a dispute among young adults, according to the Warner Robins Police Department. Officers responded to reports of gunfire before 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of Kelly Street, an area close to Linwood Elementary School, Warner Robins High School, and CB Watson Primary School.
Police stated that “further investigations revealed that a group of young adults had been engaged in a verbal altercation which led to gunfire.” Two 27-year-olds were inside a home when “shots were fired from the outside, from an unknown location,” according to authorities. It was not immediately clear if anyone was injured.
Eighteen-year-old Romeo L. Ford was arrested within a day of the incident. Officers found a firearm used in the shooting and linked it to Ford. He has been charged with aggravated assault.
