A 33-year-old woman was killed in a shooting Thursday morning in Macon, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded to the Neighborhood Grocery on Napier Avenue shortly after 10 a.m., where they found the woman with a gunshot wound.
Sgt. Christopher Williams said at the scene that the woman was unresponsive when deputies arrived. Later, authorities identified her as Quandrica Lashae Slater of McDonough, which is located just south of Atlanta.

Witnesses reported that the suspect, Bobby Wesley Troutman, 41, was in a black pickup truck. After being shot, Slater was taken to the Neighborhood Grocery, where emergency services were called.
Williams confirmed that Slater was transported to a hospital and died from her injuries.
Troutman was arrested about an hour after the incident when deputies spotted his vehicle. He has been charged with murder and is being held without bond at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
Authorities said, “the shooting is an isolated incident and does not pose a threat to the community.”
The investigation is ongoing. The sheriff’s office asks anyone with information to contact them at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
